Project Architect


Location: Downtown Portland Oregon

Job Title: Project Architect

YBA Architects is seeking a Project Architect with excellent design skill and a strong knowledge of architectural design. This position will involve all stages of design and construction, with a focus on mixed-use multi-family, office and retail work of all scales.

The primary function of a Project Architect is to lead a team while guiding the project to craft the most beautiful result while being mindful of the budget and the community at large.

The ideal candidate must meet the following qualifications:

  • • At least 7 years’ experience practicing architecture.
  • • Must have local experience taking at least two projects all the way through.
  • • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Architecture, Drafting, Design, or equivalent.
  • • Full documentation production for a ground up building.
  • • Team management experience.
  • • Experience working with contractors, sub-contractors and consultants.
  • • Previous experience working on mixed-use multifamily projects.
  • • Knowledge of Oregon building codes and LEED standards.
  • • Proficiency in Microsoft, Revit, AutoCAD and SketchUp required; Adobe Suite, Lumion, VRAY a plus.
  • • Self-motivated, energetic, and organized, with strong communication skills.

Job Captain

Job Title: Job Captain

YBA Architects is seeking a Job Captain with excellent design skills and a strong knowledge of architectural design. This position will involve all stages of design and construction, with a focus on mixed-use multi-family, office and retail work of all scales.

The primary function of a Job Captain is to take responsibility for the production of quality contract documents while taking direction from the Project Architect and or the Project Manager.

The ideal candidate must meet the following qualifications:

  • • 4+ years professional experience in construction documents
  • • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Architecture, Drafting, Design, or equivalent
  • • Previous experience working on mixed-use multifamily projects
  • • Knowledge of specifications and construction details
  • • Knowledge of Oregon building codes and LEED standards
  • • Comfort in working independently, demonstrates professionalism in dealing with a variety of clients as well as vendors
  • • Experience in construction document preparation and field observation
  • • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and SketchUp required; Adobe Suite, 3DMax, VRAY a plus
  • • Self-motivated, energetic, and organized, with strong graphic and communication skills
